Installer 4.0b2 Pre-release ScreenShots and Download

Installer 4 is now available for download and testing, thanks to iPhoneHellas for sending this in. I have installed it using the instruction on iPhoneHellas blog and had no problems installing the app via SSH and it opened and works perfectly.

Please note that this is Beta and intended for devlopers at the moment, please check the Rip Dev Blog and MyTriniPhone.com for an official release, but with that said, it’s safe to install and have a look around.

My 2.0 iPhone is looking more and more familiar with all the great new apps on Cydia and now my old friend Installer is back, all just in time for the arrival of my 16GB white iPhone 3G tomorrow.

IntelliScreen Updated to v1.04 - Awesome Update

I updated my IntelliScreen yesterday to 1,04 and I must say it is truly an awesome update. It has made IntelliScreen more stable, quicker to customize and has added some great new features that are quickly making this app one of my favorites. It allows you to quickly get a host of information form your lock screen, from RSS feeds, to news, weather, sms and calendar events.

The best new feature is the ability to preview the lock screen and scale and move around the display windows. You can also change the window style to several different window treatments. The other great new feature is the ability to double tap the time on the lock screen and bring up your RSS/News Feeeds (which you can now customize to feed any RSS url. (sweeeeeet).

Check out the Screen shots and install if you think you would enjoy these great features. You may install the BETA IntelliScreen by adding http://intelliborn.com/repo to Installer’s sources. You will get a 10 day trial and after that you’ve got to pay if you would like to use the service. Get used to it, with the AppStore on the way and stories of Apple encouraging developers to charge for apps. The age of free Apps may be over.

Features:
View Calendar, Email, Text Messages, News, Sports, and Weather from your iPhone “Slide To Unlock” screen
Taskbar Icons for Missed Email, SMS, and Phone calls
Customizable Alert Reminders - Don’t forget about a missed call, unread email, or unread SMS

iPhone Lego Robot Video Demonstration

BattleBricks presents iPhoneRobot: The iPhone Lego NXT Mindstorms Robot

“This is a demonstration of iPhone to Lego NXT Robot communication via the Safari browser and Lego’s Light Sensor. To build this, you’ll need a laptop, two iPhones, and a Lego NXT Robotics Kit. First, build your robot. Second write some Java LeJOS Robot code. Third write some Google Web Toolkit web application code. Fourth, plug in your iPhone into the robot, and use either a browser or another iPhone to drive the Lego Robot! Full details on building your own, and using this approach for other robot ideas are below. Now wouldn’t it be great if the next Lego Mindstorms Robot Brick had Wifi?”

As you can see one iPhone turns on and off different colored squares on the other iPhone attached to the Lego Robot, causing it to change direction and do a little dance for you. Seems like pretty cool stuff and pretty easy to do if you had the right stuff lying around. The Lejos NXT Program, GWT App, MLCad Model, Parts List, Parts Per Step and how to build this bad boy can be found here

iPhone Roms - How to Get Games on your iPhone / Touch

I have recently been getting allot of people asking about gaming on the iPhone and how to get various emulators running properly and have a good source of ROMS to play.

So I thought I would put together a little tutorial on how to install the source (repo.iphoneroms.com) to installer, and install the Emulator of your choice, and then how to install the ROMs of your choice.

Psycho Super Preferences and Settings for iPhone

Phycho Super Preferences created by Croiman is a great app that replaces your current iPhone Settings Application on your iPhone (i think it also creates a backup of your original Preferences app just in case). I must admit I was a bit skeptical about installing it and the idea of it replacing my original Preferences App, but so far so good. Besides being chocked full of features, it is also pretty stable and has not given me any errors or spinning wheels if death. Read more…

Kingdom Lores 3D RPG game for the iPhone

I downloaded this game onto my ipod Touch the other night and kinda forgot that I had. I stumbled upon it this morning and decided to post it up on the blog. Its a really cool, but clearly still in early development, like Alpha. The developers says that he created the 3D Game engine that Kingdom Lores runs, an impressive accomplishment. Read more…

IntelliScreen - Events, Notifications, Weather, News and Sports Feeds on your Slide to Unlock Screen

Sound the horn, we have found a great app. I love apps that show/display info on the sleep screen aka the Slide to Unlock screen. It makes getting info at a glance quick and easy.

IntelliScreen brings all your essential RSS Feeds, Weather, Email and missed/recent smsext messages all onto the first screen we all see when we take our iPhone out of our pocket.

IntelliScreen App - http://www.Intelliborn.com - Your “Slide to Unlock” screen on Steriods!

Updates - The more I fiddle with this app, the cooler it is, sliding your finger across an article in your news/sports feed will launch the story in Safari - Awesome. You can’t seem to add your own RSS feeds yet, but I am sure this will be added in a future release. Weather is courtesy WeatherUnderground.com, I was even aple to get my local weather here in Trinidad & Tobago. Read more…

MobileStacks works on 1.1.4 iPhone - Tutorial

Long ago I posted about how to get mobile stacks working on your iPhone. At the time I was using it as a speed dialer, and I was also pretty new to blogging and putting together tutorials, looking back at the article I wonder how the hell I expected anyone to understand what I was talking about. So I’ll try to do a bit better. If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to post them and I’ll do my best to answer or find an answer.
