One of the most anticipated handheld music applications, Noise.io is capable of creating all kinds of melodic sequences, basses, leads, keys, bells, percussive sounds and sound effects. Designed by an experienced electronic musician, Noise.io makes it possible to create 303-like acid basslines or any other melodies using the buit-in sequencer, or jamming live in sync with the rhythm using the TapBPM feature.
MachDice cost $0.99 in the AppsStore and it provides a realistic dice simulator using the accelerometer and touch screen. MachDice is great for Dungeons and Dragons players as it can create many different sided dice. Check out the video before buying, but it is pretty cool
It so far looks like the best karting game for the iPhone yet. It’s got more than you would expect from a game for a mobile phone - twelve tracks, a few characters to choose form, lots of weapons and power-ups, and it uses the iPhones great multi-touch interface and built in 3 way accelerometer for controls.
Here are some of the key features and screens hots from the developers website, and stay tuned for more info on pricing and availability.
Key features:
– Stunning, console quality graphics
– Twelve beautifully crafted tracks
– The famous Crash Bandicoot cast of characters
– A host of weapons, items and power-ups
– Fully configurable controls
I have been touching on gaming on the iPhone recently, I guess because of the hype of the new 2.0 firmware and the AppStore and upcoming games from Apple Certified Game Developers, it’s got me and everyone else pretty excited.
Until then, the SNES4iPhone emulator by Zodttd.com has been upgraded to 2.0 and has added the two most requested and needed features, better sound quality and better game performance (the sound on the couple games I tested was a bit soft - but much improved)
New features of version 2.0 are as follows:
SOUND WORKS! AND WELL TOO!
MORE PERFORMANCE! FASTER GAMEPLAY!
GUI ENHANCEMENTS!
ASSORTED BUG FIXES IN THE IPHONE FRAMEWORK.
To install add the following source to installer: http://zodttd.com/repo and install snes4iPhone
to get ROMS add http://repo.iphoneroms.com to installer sources and go crazy
I will post a video after lunch. (seems as though it’s crashing on my iPod Touch, but works fine on my iPhone, the only difference between the two is my Touch is PWNED - but I doubt that’s the problem)
I have recently been getting allot of people asking about gaming on the iPhone and how to get various emulators running properly and have a good source of ROMS to play.
So I thought I would put together a little tutorial on how to install the source (repo.iphoneroms.com) to installer, and install the Emulator of your choice, and then how to install the ROMs of your choice. Read more…
As a huge fan of the old Mario Kart for SNES and s big fan of real life 125cc Shifter Karting, this will be a really nice game for the iPhone when it is finally released. It’s called Crazy Kart and is being developed by Int13 and should be released by June-July.
Int13 currently makes games for other mobile devices running WM6, Palm OS Motorola OS and Symbian. From the looks of the demo video, control is via and touch screen steering wheel and game play is fun and colorful, amd stringly resembles Mario Kart, which is a good thing.
I’ll keep looking around to see if I can find the actual app so we can have a preview, but untill then, check out the demo video:
I was about to call it a night, when i decided to refresh the ol Installer and see what popped up, among some other juicy updates and apps, i found this new one, (new for me at least) called PhoneZap. I thought it was a thaser toy or something, but then I saw that it’s like the swiss army knife of apps, it does all kinda cool stuff Read more…
The app itself is pretty small (only about 400kb) but the Instrument pack for it is a hefty 11mb, so make sure you have the space (if not use BossTools from Installer to free up some space) Read more…
