eZiPhone: "Safer, Simpler" Re-Worked ZiPhone GUI for Windows

kwanbis posted this new GUI for Ziphone over on hackint0sh.org, it’s called eZiphone (easy-phone) http://eziphone.blogspot.com, and it’s in Version 1.1a. It’s a simple GUI remix of Ziphone with certain pesky bugs fixed and user friendly prompts added to make sure you are sure about what you are doing. It will jailbreak, activate and unlock you iPhone as well as other features found in Ziphone like Verbose Boot, Recovery Mode, Restore Mode and more advanced features like Downgrade Bootloader, and Repair IMEI and Baseband on 3.9BL’s. But the most important bug fix is the downgrading of 4.6 bootloader unknowingly or without authorization by ziphone, and the added ability to manually check and/or automatically run commands together. (Hopefully) No more accidental downgrades or phone crashes/repair needed.

It supports all versions up to 1.1.4 too, sweet. It’s only for Windows for now - BUT - It is open source (GPL v3), and can be compiled with the open source Lazarus compiler, for Windows, OSX, Linux - so we need a OSX done asap :)

Here are some features:

  • It DOES NOT FORCES you to downgrade the bootloader.
  • It WARNS you of dangerous switches/options.
  • It tells you what it is going to do, before doing it.
  • Finally, it does NOT requires NET framework (a 60+ MB download from MS).

For more screen shots please make the jump to the developers website.
He has also added links to all the previous versions of ZiPhone which is really nice if you know a particular version that you like to loose but mistakenly erased it etc..

Links to download eZiPhone:

  1. DOWNLOAD 1.1a
  2. DOWNLOAD 1.1a (MIRROR)

We all know that Zibri is going to have a sissy fit about this, probably say it’s fake and that his code was stolen etc - LOL - Look in the mirror son :)

Easy fix for Installing themes for SummerBoard on 1.1.3

I had posted about SummerBoard for 1.1.3 and the long method to get it working properly.

Here is the easiest and shortest way to get this working, simply add iPod Touch Fans repo: www.touchrepo.com/repo.xml to Installer and install “1.1.3 Theme Fix”

Thanks to Apple iPhone School for this great tip.

Here is another way thanks to the community over at Hackint0sh.org. Simply type the following in Term-VT100 on your iPhone or Putty on your computer.

Code:
ln -s /var/mobile/Library/SummerBoard /var/root/Library/SummerBoard

(please note it is all one line with a space beween “/SummerBoard” and “/var” - if you are unsure, please copy the code to a text editor first)

This creates a symlink between the two SummerBoard folders, both located in separate places, one is in /var/root, the other in /var/mobile. Once you have done that, all the new themes you install via Installer should appear in Installer..

Fix the Problems with 1.1.3 after Ziphone and Dev Soft-Update

Numerous problems are have surfaced with the update to 1.1.3, most of them are because of Applications now being run as “mobile” and not as “root” as it was before on 1.1.2 and below. This means that most old apps are not working or saving files to the correct place, it also means that allot of folders don’t have the right permissions to grant some applications full system file access.

Here are a collection of commands that you can run either from term-vt100 on the iphone (found on installer) or from putty over SSH, each line, press return after:

  • Most applications you download will save to one of these folders, give them full permissions by issueing the following commnads
chmod 777 /var/root/Librarychmod 777 /var/root/Library/Preferenceschown -R mobile:mobile /var/mobile
  • Get Installer working type the following:
chmod 4755 /Applications/Installer.app/Installer
  • Ste (admin of Istaller app) has moved the repository from one site to another. So, you’re getting the package download failure notices because most of the files simply AREN’T THERE anymore.
The only thing to do is to change the URL of "Ste Packaging" to http://repo.smxy.org/iphone-apps/ in the Sources section of Installer app.
  • If you have not gotten Term-VT100 to work on the iphone and you are using Putty, issue these commands:
chmod 4755 /usr/bin/loginmkdir -p /usr/local/arm-apple-darwin/libln -s /usr/lib/libgcc_s.1.dylib /usr/local/arm-apple-darwin/lib/
your username will be root and password alpine
  • Get Mobile Finder Working (allowing you to navigate your file system, copy and past files, launch apps, give files permissions and much more)
chmod 4755 /Applications/Finder.app/Finderchmod 4755 /bin/cat /bin/chmod /bin/chown /bin/cp /bin/lschmod 4755 /bin/mkdir /bin/mv /bin/rm /bin/rmdir /bin/unlink
  • Fix Email - Passwords not saving, mail app crashing (Sync Fix should fix this also - see above)

Add http://sleepers.net/iphonerepo as an Installer source. Select the Category Tweaks (1.1.3). Then install Package 1.1.3 Mailfix.

Ziphone 2.4 - Everything at your fingertips.

Zibri has been busy over the weekend, bug fixing, adding new features and revamping his ziphone application that does everything form activate to unlock your iphone. Some of the new features are all in one commands that compile a few command into one action.

Ziphone 2.4 Features:

The two all-in one modes are:
ziphone -Z Y
Jailbreak, activate, and unlock any version

ziphone -Z N
Jailbreak and activate, but don’t unlock

To see the advanced commands (same as in older versions), run:
ziphone -Z A

For customers of official iPhone cell carriers, it may be preferable to run:
ziphone -j
Just jailbreak, don’t touch activation tokens or unlock. You still still need
to connect the phone to iTunes to activate.

ziphone -j -u
Jailbreak and also unlock any version.

Ziphone can place your device into recovery or DFU mode to help in downgrading or restoring
firmware through iTunes. To enter DFU mode, run:
ziphone -D

Full usage summary:

ziphone -j = Jailbreak
ziphone -a = Activate
ziphone -u = Unlock (Works on both BL3.9 and BL4.6)
ziphone -e = Erase Baseband (BL 3.9 only)
ziphone -b = Downgrade Bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9, update baseband to 4.03.13 and patch the unlock.

ziphone -D: Enter DFU Mode.
ziphone -R: Enter Recovery Mode.
ziphone -N: Exit Recovery Mode (normal boot).
ziphone -C: Make coffee (checks MD5 sums on included DAT files)

It is also possible to combine most functions e.g. ziphone -a -j -u

*** ONLY USE -b IF YOUR IPHONE IS 1.1.2/1.1.3 OOB ***
If your phone came with 1.1.1 or earlier when it was purchased, you should NOT attempt to
downgrade your baseband bootloader with -b.

For Windows users not accustomed to using the command line, several double-clickable batch files
are included:

ClickHereX3.9.bat Will call Ziphone -u -j -a (use with iphones that were 1.1.2)

Jailbreak works on any iPhone version.

Activation works on any iPhone version, except for YouTube on 1.0.X (I am lazy i know)

You will need to manually install BSDSubsysntem after jailbreaking/activating, as it is needed to be able to install or uninstall any apps through Installer.

You can download the newes ziphone from here:

ZIPhone 2.1 - Needed bug fixes - more bugs found

*** Update: Seems Zibri added a webclip to his blog with, and once you delete it and try to install or un-install anything from/with installer the phone goes intoa reboot crash.. ***

to fix the error, use terminal or Putty and execute the following commands:

cd /private/var/mobile/Library/
chown mobile:wheel WebClips

i strongly suggest using 2.0 or even 1.0
ZiPhone 2.0

If Zibri is going to be, or should i say needs to, update/fix this software everyday, I may run out of images :)

The major improvements are Verbose Boot is no longer an option as all operations are done this way now. He also added .bat files for Windows users and a integrity check done by the .bat file for compatibility etc..

get it here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/91844902/ZiPhone2.1.zip.html

But it seems as he fixes something, another goes wrong, or at least needs to be patched, read on…

“The GUI versions and OSX versions were not updated
but they will work as long as you don’t use the -v option…”

ZiPhone 2.0 - Jailbreak, Activate, Unlock, Repair and Downgrade for all Bootlaoders - Tested - Working

Zibri has released ZiPhone 2.0 before iPhone owners could even catch themselves from the whirlwind ZiPhone did to the unlocking scene. It has been updated but comes with some requirements.

You Must use -v at the end of every command (eg: -j -a -v to jailbreak and activate) to get it to work properly if you are using the command line version. (the way I prefer actually), If you are using the GUI version, simply check the Verbose Boot button. (its been reported to give trouble with 7.6 - i myself had problems with version 1.2 GUI - don’t know if it was iTunes or bugz) - What is really great though, that with Verbose mode on you can see everything happening on the screen of the iphone as if you were to do it from terminal or putty.

Ziphone Features
-j = jailbreaks all iPhones
-a = Activates all iPhone
-u = Unlocks all iPhone
-v = Verbose Boot all iPhones (show startup log)
-i = Change/Repair IMEI 4.6 Bootloader only! (illegial??)
-e = Virginize/Repair 3.9 Bootlaoder (restores baseband to 03.14.08-G)
-d = Downgrades 4.6 Bootloader to 3.9 (use at your own risk)

It is adised that even though these processes may have gotten easier, they still come with some level of risk, virginizing/downgrading bootloader etc should always be done with a FULL battery, NEVER unplug during the process and strenge errors have been encountered by some users… so be careful and only use what you need.

I have tested this on both Mac and Windows and it works perfectly, only thing I have not tried is the 4.6 Bootloader Downgrader..

Graphic User Interface for ZiPhone - from iPhone.unlock.no

As if the Ziphone couldn’t get any easier, well it has. iphone.unlock.no has put together a great GUI (graphic user interface) for the Ziphone.exe. If you were having any trouble or doubts about it before and are using Windows, give this a try.

For those of you who didn’t already read about ZiPhone, by Zibri, do so here: http://zibree.blogspot.com/

AFAIK, it’s based on geohots unlock etc, so 99% of the credits goes to them.

He released it as command line only, and i made a simple WINDOWS shell (graphical user interface) for it to make it a little easier for the lazy ones, or the novice.

The process of jailbreaking, activating and unlocking a brand new phone is less than 3 minutes!

Download ZiPhone Shell by Unlock.no here (9MB, self-extracting zip)
Mirror: MegaUpload

Note: .NET framework 2.0 required (most of you should have that installed)
