RMut, this is a personal decision

for me I was/am very bored with installer,

i never really needed intelliscreen, kate, vwallpaper, or vtones

I miss iPhone Video Recorder, thats about it...

I really like the AppStore and it's offering, but thats just me, I have no problem paying for apps

I do see all, if not most developers trying to get into the appstore

only those not accepted, or those who's apps will not conform to apples rules about app development (intelliscreen, summerboard, video recorder etc) will not make it and keep installer alive

I personally think you should atleast donate or purchase software (especially from installer) cause without the donation/purchases, the apps you looking for on installer (to steal or hack) will no longer be there cause the developer is broke...

just something to think about.

Hi crysis, it should be obvious that the #G firmware will NOT work on your 2G first generation iPhone

the dev team clearly stated that it cant unlock the 3G iphone yet, hence NO boot neuter

you need to use a custom 2.0 firmware built for a first gen iPhone - this works

but WinPwn is also now out...

The other question is, will capitalism slow down app development through appsnap (installer)? I think so...it's an inherent truth that anyone who can make money doing something they love will take the opportunity. This has me a bit worried as we might no longer see any cool apps coming out for jailbroken phones :(

I'm wondering if 2.0 is worth the upgrade to me.

Right now I have a perfectly working 2G 1.1.4 phone. Even applications that ordinarily operate as trials I have cracked (intelliscreen, video recorder etc). I love the fact that I've sorted out all my bugs but I'm a bit bored and thinking about upgrading to 2.0. My only worry beyond reinstalling/troubleshooting all my favorite apps is pay out my a$$ in the app store.

I was looking at the app store and I have to say many of the application look amazing but I've read some reviews about many being buggy...not to mention a bit pricey. While most apps at launch time were free, currently 24% cost $0.99.

In your honest opinion, do you think it's worth it?

Hmm, took like 30 minutes from DFU mode. Restored using custom 3g firmware. Finished, and nothing. No Bootneuter no nothing.

I'm not going to try this again, unless its something completely obvious.
