Mobile Spy for iPhone

Retina-X Studios announced today the immediate availability of Mobile Spy for the Apple iPhone. Using this groundbreaking iPhone spy technology, users can silently monitor incoming and outgoing text messages (SMS) and call information of children or employees - even if activity logs are erased. Mobile Spy had already been available for Windows Mobile and Symbian OS smartphones. The new version for the iPhone is now on the market.

Mobile Spy runs in total stealth mode and no mentions of the program are shown inside the iPhone. After the software is setup on the phone, it silently records the entire text of all SMS text messages along with the associated phone number. The software also records inbound and outbound call information with duration of the call. Immediately after activities are logged, they are silently uploaded to the user’s private online account. Accounts can be checked online from any web browser without needing further access to the phone.

“Mobile Spy is a priceless piece of software. After having some doubts about honesty, this really helped set the record straight and confirmed my suspicions.” says Derrick, a Mobile Spy user. Retina-X Studios CEO James Johns states “The iPhone has quickly become the most dominant smartphone all over the world. Before now there was no method to monitor activities of children or employees on the iPhone. Being the first to develop this technology, we will continue expanding with new features for this tool.”

This exclusive system helps businesses enforce their Acceptable Use Policy on company provided phones. The software can also monitor teen or family phones. It gives a parent the ability to remotely monitor their child’s texting activities by logging into a website from any web browser. Another common use is to backup a user’s own cell activity as a record of all important text conversations.

Mobile Spy runs on iPhone 3G and smartphones running the Windows Mobile or Symbian OS operating system. This includes Windows Mobile 2003, 2003 SE, 5.0 and 6.0 and Symbian OS 8.x and 9.x which are available from most major mobile carriers.

Copy and Pastebud in Safari, Find in Page, Open in New Tab and more Bookmarlets available via Cydia

A safari addon plugin was posted on Cydia today and it includes the new Pastebud which enables copy and paste on your iPhone or iPod Touch, between Mail and Safari through a clever combination of web services and bookmarklets. It does it without requiring a jailbreak or App Store download. Watch the demo, or check out my screenshots below.

To use is easy, once installed simply navigate to the page you want to copy content from, go to your bookmarks and select copy, the page will be converted on pastebuds servers to a simple format that makes copying easier. Then simply tap and drag to select the text you wish to copy. Once highlighted, tap copy on the green pastebud bar, then you can either navigate to a new web page and select paste from your bookmarks which will give you paste prompts on the fields on that page that you can input/paste text into. OR - you can tap the small New Mail icon on the left and this will open a new email with the copied text pasted in there. In both cases all links will be retained.

You also have the option of upgrading your clipboard for $5, to hide the footer that pastebud appends to the end of each paste.

Finally - Copy and Paste in Safari and Mail - Soon

As someone who has Copiercin on their iPhone in an attempt to simulate Copy and Paste one of the biggest Apps are missing from that mix, Safari. That’s where you’ll be needing to copy and paste from the most. There have been a couple attempts to provide this feature with javascript bookmarklets etc, but Pastebud so far has beat them all.

Jed Schmidt, creator of Pastebud, has conceived a way to copy and paste text from Safari to Mail, and between web pages. And this time, it doesn’t require any software installation and it’s legal:

Unlike other approaches, it works with the two apps that matter
most, Mail and Safari, and gets around Apple’s onerous App Store terms
through a clever combination of javascript bookmarks and web services.

In fact, it doesn’t require anything to be installed, so it avoids the App Store altogether. As you can see in the video, Pastebud—as the service is called—works using two bookmarks in Safari. One prepares and
loads the page you are viewing, ready to select text at the touch of a finger. From there, you can copy any text you want and create a new mail message with that text in it. In addition to that, you will be able to copy and paste in the text field of a different web page.

While this is not full copy and paste capabilities, I, for one, welcome the ability do exactly this, which is basically what I want to do 95% of the time. According to Jed Schmidt, creator of Pastebud, they have been testing it for about a week and they are now “putting the finishing touches on the web site before launch”.

OK - Mini vMac is really cool and brought a HUGE smile to my face… Totally reminds me of when I was a kid and our old II and SE etc. I got it working on my iPhone running OS 7.0.1, 7.5.5 and 6.0.8. Check out the developers website here. You can install by adding apt.namedfork.net/iphone to your Cydia repositories.

How to Use:

Swipe up with two fingers to show the keyboard, down to hide it.
Swipe left with two fingers to insert disks.
Swipe right with two fingers for settings.

Where to get the .ROM file and .dsk files

I got the vMac.ROM file from here: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Bit/6458/vMac.html
I got .dsk from here: http://www.geocities.com/basicman10549/

ROM Installation

The ROM file must be called vMac.ROM and placed in one of the following:
/Applications/minivmac.app/
/Library/MacOSClassic/
~/Library/MacOSClassic/

Disk Images

Mini vMac will look for disk images with .dsk and .img extensions in:
/Applications/minivmac.app/
/Library/MacOSClassic/
~/Library/MacOSClassic/
To insert disk images, swipe left with two fingers and the list of disks will appear. Disks already inserted will be greyed out.
