Sorry for the lack of Updates to MyTriniPhone

WOW!, its been months since i posted to this blog, and now looking at it I have 60 comments, 500 spam and 19 plugins to update :D

I must really apologize for not updating the site or making any announcement of the state, for that I am truely sorry. I must also thank SRASC (Scott) for occasionally posting updates to the site. And most of all thank you to the ~600 or so subscribers and members that have stuck around.

I have been thinking of selling the site recently and was made a few good offers. But I am also thinking of updating the site and covering a wider range of topics and phones.

Let me know what you guys think.

  1. Would you like to see more phone brands discussed a covered on MyTriniPhone?
  2. Would you like to have an iPhone/Phone Accessory Store?
  3. Improved Forums and Tutorials Sections?
Any other ideas, please let me know.
Oh and if you are interested in purchasing MyTriniPhone, please contact me.

I make it ra1n

Yes, this is what you’ve all been waiting for. A jailbreak for the iPhone 3GS. And it’s awesome. To get started right now, go to purplera1n.com. Download it. Make sure you have windows(but not 7), the latest iTunes installed, and an iPhone 3GS with 3.0 firmware. Connect your iPhone normally. Click “make it ra1n”. Wait. On bootup, run Freeze, the purplera1n installer app. Hopefully you’ll figure out what to do from there. Best tutorial gets linked to from purplera1n site. This tool is beta. Make sure to have everything backed up before running. Also if Cydia doesn’t show up after running Freeze, reboot.

If you need help email purplera1n.support at gmail and attach your purplera1n.log file. Or call the purplera1n support hotline @ (650) 265-1210 Mac version is coming shortly.

Normally I don’t make tools for the general public, and rather wait for the dev team to do it. But guys, whats up with waiting until 3.1? That isn’t how the game is played. We release, Apple fixes, we find new holes. It isn’t worth waiting because you might have the “last” hole in the iPhone. What last hole…this isn’t golf. I’ll find a new one next week. Also your purplera1nyday files ensure that you can always get back to a jailbroken state, so if you have it it’s just a matter of tools.

Props to chronic dev for their help, and to kroo for writing v2 of Freeze. And props to Saurik for making an awesome package set. Note the binary size of purplera1n, it’s smaller than C++ hello world. No 20MB thing that needs to be torrented. And no IPSW to download. This is how jailbreak should be!

Apple Introduces the all new faster iPhone 3G S

Apple announced it’s all new iPhone 3G S - apparently the “S” stands for speed. It seems to share the same shape and design as previous iPhone, but thats where the similarities end. It’s fast, really fast - launching apps 2x faster, in fact 2.9 times faster to view most websites when compared to previous iPhones. Support for OpenGL ES 2.0 and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA. The battery life has also been bumped up to 9 hours vs 6hrs of talk time.

The new iPhone 3G S also now sports a 3MP auto focus lens and auto white balance and exposure, simply tap to focus and balance exposure. The new camera has better low light sensitivity, you can also now auto macro to objects as close as 10 cm. The biggest change is that the new iPhone and 3.0 firmware can capture video at 30 fps VGA with audio with auto focus, white balance, you can also trim your video’s and share to MMS, email, MobileMe and YouTube.

The new iPhone 3G S now has built in voice control, hold down the Home button, say “Call Andy” for example and the device will ask for confirmation and make the call. Voice control can also be used to control iPod playback, simply say “play songs by “, “play song list”, “what’s playing now?” or “play more songs like this” to invoke the Genius.

There is also a new compass that will allow you to know your position and what direction you are facing at all times.

Pricing will start at $199 for the 16GB version and $299 for the 32GB iPhone 3G(S), both models available in black and white, and the old iPhone 3G will be priced at $99 US and is effective immediately.
