Truphone today debuted the ability to make and receive Skype calls and instant messaging (IM) to the entire Skype user base from its iPhone and iPod touch applications. The service is scheduled to be available to all customers during the week of Jan. 12.
This represents one more step toward making Truphone the open “all-in-one conversations hub” for iPhone and iPod touch users. Truphone customers on both Apple devices can now reach their Skype friends via their Skype IDs. This further expands the universe of people with whom Truphone customers can stay in touch.
Truphone-to-Skype communications are free over the Internet, and iPhone users can also place and receive Skype calls and messages when not in a Wi-Fi-accessible location for the cost of a local call, using the Truphone Anywhere feature.

Macworld 2009 which has started today will be the last time Apple will exhibit at the Macworld Expo. Though Apple has downplayed the event with that announcement it hasn’t stopped the rumors. We are rounding up the iPhone rumors that have been reported so far and what we think about them.
iPhone Nano Rumors:
iDealsChina was the first to publish information and rendering of the iPhone Nano case manufactured by a Chinese case manufacturer, XSKN claiming that the product will be announced at Macworld San Francisco 2009.
We then had the case manufacturer, XSKN add references to iPhone nano on its website and then followed up by publishing the entire series of iPhone Nano cases for sale suggesting that rumors of a smaller version of iPhone could be true.
We also had a well-known case designer Vaja who has just updated its web catalog revealing that they have plans to release protective case for the iPhone Nano in the near future.
Apple might introduce 32 GB iPhone:
MacBlogz had claimed that they have received an anonymous tip that Apple might introduce 32 GB iPhone at Macworld 2009.
Their tipster had claimed to work with a third party iPhone accessory supplier and has access to iPhone’s short-term roadmap.
AT&T to announce Tethering plans for the iPhone:

Tethering takes a wireless phone’s high speed data connection and allows it to connect with a non-mobile device like a desktop computer laptop.
There’s a chance that AT&T may provide its customers with an iPhone tethering plan. We have heard rumors that AT&T will be offering their official tethering option for the iPhone for an additional $30 per month with a 5GB data cap. So those of you who are thinking, “hey! I’m going to do away with my home DSL bill!”
It is being reported that AT&T might make that announcement this week at Macworld.

Despite lessened expectations for next week’s Macworld Expo, the Moscone Center venue for the trade show already sports roughly a dozen sprawling, cloth-concealed banners that hint at several product announcements.
Five banners shrouded by white cloth, approximately 60 feet in length, can be seen immediately upon entering the Moscone South Hall. Three hang just above eye level on the ground level while the other two sit just above the entrance to the south hall exhibits.

First off the bad…
Apple rumors commonly take on a life of their own. The iPhone was this way, the multi-touch Mac is this way, and now the iPhone nano. However, unlike the original iPhone, and the excitement of a multi-touch Mac, an iPhone nano would overall just be a misplaced product.
Prior to Macworld 2007, where Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the first iPhone, heated rumors were swirling much in the same way about the device. Nearly every analyst, blog, website, news publication and magazine had an inside tip, or what they thought was “credible” information about the rumored iPhone. Much in the same way the industry regards an Apple netbook or multi-touch Mac, a rumored iPhone nano has gained some major notoriety lately.
Even though a smaller device may appeal directly to a different market, we can’t help but label such a device as a bad idea. Here are a few of our reasons:
