Well another great app is out to do this and its called MxTube. It saves the file in youtubes iPhone format directly to your iphone. Before posting this I gave if a try and it worked perfectly and quickly, more screen shots etc in the morning. Its 2am and I’m on my phone :)

eZiPhone: "Safer, Simpler" Re-Worked ZiPhone GUI for Windows

kwanbis posted this new GUI for Ziphone over on hackint0sh.org, it’s called eZiphone (easy-phone) http://eziphone.blogspot.com, and it’s in Version 1.1a. It’s a simple GUI remix of Ziphone with certain pesky bugs fixed and user friendly prompts added to make sure you are sure about what you are doing. It will jailbreak, activate and unlock you iPhone as well as other features found in Ziphone like Verbose Boot, Recovery Mode, Restore Mode and more advanced features like Downgrade Bootloader, and Repair IMEI and Baseband on 3.9BL’s. But the most important bug fix is the downgrading of 4.6 bootloader unknowingly or without authorization by ziphone, and the added ability to manually check and/or automatically run commands together. (Hopefully) No more accidental downgrades or phone crashes/repair needed.

It supports all versions up to 1.1.4 too, sweet. It’s only for Windows for now - BUT - It is open source (GPL v3), and can be compiled with the open source Lazarus compiler, for Windows, OSX, Linux - so we need a OSX done asap :)

Here are some features:

  • It DOES NOT FORCES you to downgrade the bootloader.
  • It WARNS you of dangerous switches/options.
  • It tells you what it is going to do, before doing it.
  • Finally, it does NOT requires NET framework (a 60+ MB download from MS).

For more screen shots please make the jump to the developers website.
He has also added links to all the previous versions of ZiPhone which is really nice if you know a particular version that you like to loose but mistakenly erased it etc..

Links to download eZiPhone:

  1. DOWNLOAD 1.1a
  2. DOWNLOAD 1.1a (MIRROR)

We all know that Zibri is going to have a sissy fit about this, probably say it’s fake and that his code was stolen etc - LOL - Look in the mirror son :)

What Firmware do you have on your iPhone?

I ran a poll over the last month to see where readers were on the firmware map. With the release of 1.1.4 last week (and then cracked hours later)and the upcoming SDK Roadmap to be announced this week by Apple, my timing couldn’t have been better.

With 1.1.4 already here, and the probability of a new firmware required for the SDK apps as 1.1.4 saw no real changes to 1.1.3, but was more for bug fixes, seems like allot of you are keeping up with the latest firmware and jailbreaks and unlocks, but with each new firmware comes its little hiccups and problems.

1.1.3 already has some issues with apps saving files to var/root instead of var/media, but most apps are being updated or have fix’s and patches for them on Installer. 1.1.4 saw a fix for the Jumbled SMS times (that came be fumbled around and fixed manually) but 1.1.4 also bring other apps that don’t work and need patching..

So what do we do, keep moving on? Upgrading with each Apple update and then jailbreak and activate with the tools as they come out. When will we just kick back and enjoy the phone? I stayed on 1.1.1 for months just to enjoy the phone for a while… when will i do that again?

I think that question will be answered on Thursday. How will Apple deploy the apps and how much control will they have, will we be getting/using hacked approved apps? Or will we all be able to purchase apps from itunes on Jailbreaked and Activated and of coourse Unlocked iPhones?? That will make allot of us decide if and when to upgrade next.

- or -

Will PWNED be the future? Custom firmware and applications, a firmware that never locks and you can restore with iTunes? The next week will be an exciting time for everyone with an iPhone whether the news is good or bad for unlockers wanting the SDK.

I am going t take it easy this week, nursing a broken toe and keeping my ear to the ground.
