OK I have been using iCopy for the past half hour on my iPhone and this plug-in rocks!
iCopy is another great applet/plug-in for Safari this time allowing users to do the most requested feature missing from the iPhone, Copy & Paste. Here are a couple quick demos thanks to the developer over at http://www.biocow.com/ and Iman07 over on ModMyiFone for posting such a great video demo.
You can see that it is clearly still in development as some features need to be cleaned up, but this is a great start as a feature no one can understand how apple couple leave out.
Head over to http://www.biocow.com/iCopy/ on your iPhone to install.
- You can copy and paste almost any text on the page
- You can email a friend a great web page you found
- Emailed text retains it’s HTML formatting including absolute links and images
Please note: It’s important to follow these instructions. Just saving the link page as a book mark will not work. You need to edit the bookmark and remove the beginning part. (Step 9 below)
- Click here to get the application link
- Click the plus (+) to add a bookmark
- Click “Save”
- Click the bookmarks icon
to open bookmarks
- Click “Edit” near the bottom of screen
- Click on the Copy/Paste bookmark
- Tap on the URL portion of the page
- The cursor will be at the end of the URL. Scroll to the beginning of the URL. (See below for tips on this step)
- Delete everything before the word “javascript” (everythin in red below)
http://www.biocow.com/iCopy/link.php?javascript:function%20doBio……..
- Press Return
- Click “Bookmarks” near the top to return to your bookmarks
- Cick “Done” to exit edit mode
- Click “Done” to exit bookmarks
The copy past program will be installed. Try it out.

Seems like the Dev’s have been busy lately behind closed doors developing and fine tuning the much anticipated Custom Firmware and .ipsw builder - PWNED. For those that don’t frequently check their blog, here is the latest update on Project PWNED from the Dev Team.

Well, Apple has had their turn, impressive work on SDK! And now it’s ours…
Pwnage is based on an exploit found in the lower levels of the iPhone/iTouch bootloader. We can now “pwn” Apple by patching the device to allow unsigned code. This opens the door to unlimited possibilities.
Once your iPhone/iTouch has been “pwned”, you can do things like installing custom made .ipsw files - straight from iTunes!
For a more technical explanation please visit Pwnage page.
We are going to release two tools as part of Pwnage project.
-
iPwner - tool to make your iPhone/iTouch “pwned”. You will have to use this tool just once
1).
-
IPSW Builder - by using this tool you will be able to modify the .ipsw filesystem, i.e. pre-jailbreak, pre-unlock, pre-activate, and create a complete custom .ipsw installation. In case you are already unlocked you can even tell it to disable the baseband update, just in case. Restore or Update from iTunes with custom .ipsw file and Voila! no more hassles after that.
Both tools are undergoing intensive developing and soon will be ready for public consumption.
If you would like to knwo the technical side of how PWNED works and what the Dev Team did to find a way to sign firmwares you can install with iTunes, click here

Who’s George? Well he is not George Hotz (GeoHotz) the famous wonder kid who was the first to hardware unlock the iPhone and later brought the first software unlocks for the new 4.6 Bootloaders. NO, this is George Zhu aka George Zjlotto, a brilliant programmer and blogger, that has been solving and reworking apps and their hiccups from firmware to firmware and unlock to unlock for a few months now.
Now he has finally released his personal Jailbreaking and Activating tool for public use. It’s called iLiberty, it’s for PC only at the moment. It allows you to obviously jailbreak and activate your iPhone but also allows you to install custom payloads (a seemingly common new trait of all iPhone tools/utilities these days) - unfortunately there is no Unlock feature at the moment either…
George has provided a link to the custom payloads and the executables so you can customize the tool to suit your needs and only install the apps you want.. sweet. Here are some notes about iLiberty:
Introduction
————
iLiberty is a pure Win32 GUI designed for iPhone jailbreak, activation, unlock as well as application installtion.
iLiberty currently lacks the ability to unlock because I need some time to category all those unlocking methods. NOTE: This tools is firstly designed for my personal use, hence some features (like unlock) might not be put into the first place, it’s all based on my needs.
Features
——–
Jailbreak from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4
Activate from 1.0.2 to 1.1.4
Kick iPhone out of recovery mode
Push iPhone into DFU mode
Online update (can auto check)
Mirror and Proxy support
Debug mode
Here’s the tool: iLiberty 1.1.2 Build 16 (MD5: 0698283c69320d4a236d2abfc45b97a6)
If you prefer download the executable first, then only download those needed payloads, here it is: iLiberty 1.1.2.16 Main Executable (MD5: ae80720466bfa8dbd5ee3093ed08eae9)
Get payloads here: http://iphone.zjlotto.com/iLiberty/Payload/, NOTE: Some payloads have 2 files (a .zip and a .sh) and you need to download both of them.
Another great app for us all, unfortunately this is only for PC at the moment and does NOT unlock you iPhone, BUT it certainly can be very useful and I am sure an unlock will be intergrated to it by time it reaches my MacMini
Please check out his blog and feel free to donate to him, he deserves it.

Seems like the Dev Team are up to their old games of cat and mouse again. Rumor has it that they have gotten a hold of the new 1.2 iPhone Firmware being delivered to Developers (that will be released to us as iPhone Firmware 2.0 in June) and have managed to install jailbreak and activate it on an iPhone.
Details are very hush hush as you can imagine on the method used and the jailbreak details, but we do know its the work of the original Dev Team, the same folks bringing us PWNED. Maybe a cutom 2.0 Firmware is on the verge of reality. The new App Store and the old Installer.app along with Cydia and all our favorite apps all on your unlocked 2.0 iPhone?
Sounds too good to be true, but looks to be possible if what I am hearing is right.

iPlus by Aviegas is a *fully automatic* tool for doing everything in one for your iPhone and is not is a brilliant version 2.0. This works for both PC and Mac, and after using this on my Mac to unlock a 1.1.4 (4.6BL) iPhone, it went so smoothly and seamlessly, I am very impressed once again.
It will downgrade the bootloader to 3.9 FakeBlank (so you can upgrade it back to 4,6 if you want), unlock, jailbreak and activate the iPhone all with one easy to use tool. And even better, it will also install the most important and common packages as well as several app/support fixes. Thankfully the Bootloader downgrading uses BL 3.9FakeBlank), so it is fully reversible (not the original 3.9BL like ziphone uses which you can NOT reverse to 4.6bl)
With the New iPipe Console my Marcia C Aimeida, the entire process is clear and direct, you are no longer waiting and guessing what part of the process it’s reached and how many reboots are still needed. Aveigas thanks the Dev Team for fixing the ramdisk issues that caused the “Repaid Needed” issues.
What’s new in 2.0
———————–
- Unlock/downgrade strategy rework: Now safer than ever!
- New Interface on the iPhone (using iPipe from MCA)
- Fix for the “Repair Needed” problem reported by some users
- iPlus will always reboot twice (and not 2 or 3 times)
- Pass 2 visual feedback. Now users know what is going on
- PC/Mac program will not end until everything is really done
- Support for PPC
This is still a command line tool and the developers are saying that a nice GUI is on the horizon. But more and more this si becoming my preferred method of unlocking 1.1.4

This morning i was asked by shivanad why I had not mentioned iPlus on the blog yet, and to be honest, it was just that I have been very busy for the past few days and saw it, but kinda overlooked it and got swept up in the SDK storm yesterday.
iPlus is another one of these ‘all-in-one’ apps for the iPhone that have come out recently. It doesn’t have any fancy GUI or Italian blog and it ONLY works on 1.1.4, but it sure does get the job done, and quite neatly and quickly at that.
I am not so fond of the idea of downgrading the bootloader for a few reasons; incase of a return to apple (the phone isn’t pristine), or in case there is a longterm hardware problem with changing the bootloader, but that is MY opinion..
Then I got a call from a friend asking if I could help his friend fix her phone, someone tried to unlock it but mistakenly updated to 1.1.4 in the process, then tried downgrading to 1.1.3 (leaving 04.04.05_gBB) and couldn’t unlock it with ziphone. What better time than now to Unlock 1.1.4 with iPlus1.2 than now.
Upon receiving the phone I realized it was a week 39, so i knew it already had 3.9 bootloader, so it wouldn be running the bootloader downgrade. So that made me feel a little better. I quickly jumped over to iClarified and to see if they had any tutorials (because I really like using them) and there were one for OSX and one for the PC. As I was already on the MacMini, I downloaded iPLus1.2 and fired it up following iClarifieds tutorial. About 3 minutes later!! I had a 1.1.4 unlocked, jailbreaked and activated, with BSDsubsystem installed, AFC set (so iBrickr and iPhuc will work etc) Open SSH installed, and Installer besides other little patches for YouTube etc.. sweet!
What must be noted is that it will and can downgrade your bootloader if you have bootlaoder 4,6 (or a phone that came with 1.1.2 on it) - SO be warned not to use it if you don’t want to downgrade your bootloader.
It also lets you costomize the aps installed by editing teh payloads.zip file, i have not played with this yet, but i am sure it is pretty simply to get all the apps i usually install on the phone in one payload and have everything installed in a few minutes. I am going to try that, sounds too good to be true
Here is a full list of features:
Features:
———–
1-Unlock and, if required, automatically downgrade the bootloader from 4.6 to 3.9FakeBlank
2-Jailbreak
3-Activate
4-Install AFC2
5-Add the following packages:
- Installer
- Community Sources
- BSD subsystem
- OpenSSH
- VT-100
Plus:
- BSD Fix (backspace)
- VT100 Fix (can’t login)
- Summerboard themes directory fix (installation issues)
- Relocates Fonts and Ringtones (Allows for more than 120MB free for Apps!)
- Customizable payloads!
All in all this was by far the quickest and cleanest method to jailbreak, activate and unlock AND get the first couple essential apps installed so far. What I also noticed and enjoyed was the information given when unlocking / Verbose Boot. The credits mentions to the various developers (kudos) and the much cleaner and more organized looking code/output during the process. This was not a quick hackjob with weird messages like “that didn’t work, lets try that again” and “ok we can fix that”. ok I take that back, I just got that message on a phone. But I really must give it two thumbs up for unlocking and thank shivanad for reminding me of it and the various devs that put it together and built the tools.
