ActivateMMS2G Brings MMS To iPhone (2G)s

Released today via Cydia. Though I’ve tried it personally with no results. So far its pretty successful at bringing the MMS interface to a 2G iPhone in the Messages & Photos apps. Maybe its a local issue…

After playing around with it a little more & some luck I was able to get it to work! For those wanting to have MMS on their iPhone (2G) (even though Apple said it would not be possible) these are the (bmobile (Trinidad & Tobago)) settings:

-APN: mms
-MMSC: http://192.168.210.104/mmrelay.app
-MMS Proxy: 192.168.210.104:8080

I’d like to thank my friend Zane for initially telling me about this being available in Cydia as well providing me with those settings, which took a little tinkering to get working properly. Also Kevon, who commeneted on this subject.

Installed ActiveMMS2G on my iPhone2G using OS 3.0 with T-Mobile (USA) and it wouldn't even give me an icon to send MMS so this is what I ended up doing and now it works great:

1. Launch Cydia > Sections > Messaging
2. Install ActiveMMS2G and Reboot
3. Go to Settings > General > Network > Cellular Data Network
4. Use the details below

Cellular Data:
APN - wap.voicestream.com
Username -
Password -

MMS:
APN - wap.voicestream.com
Username -
Password -
MMSC - 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS Proxy - 216.155.165.50:8080
MMS Max Message Size -
MMS UA Prof URL -

5. Reboot
6. Go to Settings > General > Messages and make sure MMS Messaging is ON (if it's not on, turn it on and then reboot again)
7. When sending text messages, you should now be able to see the camera icon to send MMS.

Hope this helps somebody. It helped me.

AT&T does not activate MMS currently. I recently installed this maybe trying to bypass AT&T but no go..now it wont boot at all on my iphone3G 3.0 Jailbroken iphone. i need to go home and restore from my custom image again. not cool..

I just tried this on my 2g iphone and the camera icon pops up i the message screen but when i try to send the message it won't go thourgh it says it is unable to send.

It should be noted that apn for cellular data must also be mms. I dunno why but it would accept the apn if it differs.

is it supposed to be
"mmsc: 192.168.210.104/mmrelay.app"?

If it is I have already tried those exact settings. Doesn't work.

Yes sorry bout that!!!…. u have to put your cellular data apn to mms and it would work

Tried those exact settings before (in fact it was the 1st set I tried). Didn't work. Does it matter if it is Mms vs mms?
Those settings work on your iPhone?

Those 2G settings should work for the 3G as well.

NB Apparently those on bmobile Corporate Plans do not have that feature even after putting in the settings. I think it is by request only.
