Apple iPhone Firmware 2.2.1 Now Available - Don’t update yet if you are unlocked/jailbreaked

Apple has released iPhone Firmware 2.2.1 (Build 5H11 - Modem Firmware 02.30.03) today. The update is available from iTunes, no word yet if PWNAGE and QuickPWN work, they probably don’t, and we are not sure about yellowsn0w for the 3G either, so do yourself a favor and don’t update just yet. The iPhone 2.2.1 Software Update includes:

- Improved general stability of Safari
- Fixed issue where some images saved from Mail do not display correctly in the Camera Roll

anyone using the 3G yellowsn0w soft unlock should definitely avoid the official update at all costs. The baseband cannot be downgraded, so if you update to the new baseband, you are stuck there without any known way to inject the yellowsn0w unlock.

your 2G will remain unlocked, but you will loose the jailbreak (cydia and installer and all your apps that are not form the appstore, i would wait)

If you have cydia and installer on your phone you will definately lose them and everything that you have downloaded through them if you install this update to 2.2.1. Trust me I have already done this and now my phone is no longer jailbroken and until quikpwn gets updated to jailbreak this new update I am stuck with an unbroken phone. This sux and I want my cydia back
