There was allot of buzz and hope surrounding rumors that Apple will be refreshing its’ line of MacBook’s and maybe even making a few additions to its notebook family. Apple confirmed these rumors yesterday by finally making the October 14th 2008 Event official. The Cupertino Apple campus Town Hall event is limited to selected media and guests and the invite says “The spotlight turns to Notebooks” which is a clear indication that this event is all about notebooks and the MacBook family.

There are rumors that Apple may finally introduce a sub $1000 USD notebook to compete with Dell, HP and others who have control of the sub $1000 notebook market. There are indications that Apple may introduce a line of notebooks that range in price from $800-$3100 USD.

There are allot of rumors based on the events leaked code name for the star of the show, “the Brick”, and what it could be. Some are speculating that it is a new technique for carving the MacBook casings from one piece of aluminium, doing away with allot of seams, screws and less pieces to the notebook. Others speculated that this may be the code name for a new Touch Tablet or even a new AppleTV/Mac Mini crossbreeed. In the end, we’ll only have to wait until next Tuesday to find out. Below are a couple photos of the supposed new MacBook ‘Brick’.
