Apple seeded iPhone Firmware 2.1 Beta 4 to developers recently and Apple says the update is mostly “bug fixes”, but once you dig a little deeper you’ll realize that Apple has pulled the push notification service in this release “for further development.”
Apple promised a September release of PUSH notification where apps will be able to be updated in the background via Apples push servers so users can get updates as badges (like SMS or Email notifications), Text boxes (like SMS previews) and alerts such as sounds or vibrations.
Well it’s gone. Hopefully it will be back in the final release that’s due in September.
