One fo the most desirable apps for the iPhone has always been a video recorder. A few developers in teh past tried to create the ultimate iPhone video recording software, but they either gave us a 5 second video recorder with no real functionality or purpose or they were full of empty promises and never really delivered anything at all.

Then came DreamCatcher out of no where. iPhoneVideoRecorder came out of left field and took the community by storm. Thousands downloaded the app and many were willing to pay to get a license to get the full features - myself included. As time went on DreamCatcher continued developing the app and supplying updates and fantastic new features. But what about 2.0? (and now 2.0.1?)

Well I contacted DreamCatcher to hear what they had planned and I was very happy with what I heard. The developer plans to support both communities, iPhoneVideoRecorder has been submitted to the AppStore as well will it may be available via Cydia and Installer once DreamCatcher knows if they will be accepted into the AppStore. Pricing is not set in stone yet, but they do have a plan for those who already purchased the app on a jailbroken iPhone.

“The apps have been listed for review by Apple for entering App Store and we are got the version for App Store ready. Now we are waiting for the result from Apple. Once we are approved and the new version is released, we will inform our customers via emails.

If we are listed in App Store, we may release two 3G versions:

  • One is App Store version which App store requires payment before download.
  • The other is jailbroken upgraded version which is free for the users who have purchased the program before it is listed in App Store.

Thanks so much for the update guys!!
