iPhone AppStore Stats - 60 Million Apps - $30 Million in Sales

Users of Apple’s new App Store have downloaded more than 60 million apps and games in the last month, generating a total of about $30 million in sales since the service launched on July 11th according to Apple CEO Steve Jobs. WOW!

Steve Jobs was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal and Jobs said that the majority of those apps and games were free, the App Store still averaged $1 million a day from pay-per-download content (like I’m Rich - lol), at this rate the AppStore could generate as much as $360 million annually (Smile AAPL share owners).

Steve Jobs was quoted as saying - “This thing’s going to crest a half a billion, soon.. Who knows, maybe it will be a $1 billion marketplace at some point in time. I’ve never seen anything like this in my career for software.” The developers’ share this first months take is about $21 million, that’s a hell of allot more than anyone ever made selling their apps/games on Installer or Cydia. That’s even more than Zibreezy got from donations.

The AppStore has proven in first month that the users are hungry for new apps/games, and developers certainly now have the market place to sell them, and make allot of money. Sounds like a win-win-win situation for Apple, Developers, and us the users.
