The iPhone Wiki - The iPhone Hackers Encyclopedia

GeoHot has decided that there needs to be a centralized base of information for the iPhone hacking community, and he has set out on a mission to accomplish this.
The iPhone Wiki
Long ago there used to be the Dev Team Wiki, the iPhone Elite wiki and others that had allot of the information and methods used for hacking the iPhone. People could join the wiki’s and contribute. Later with the fallout between the different groups and certain members/users abusing their privileges/power of the wiki, it was closed to the public. This kept methods and exploits secret (so Apple could NOT fix them before we used em) and also kept the spammers and those looking to make money from the info away. - But what if the Dev Team dissolved or something along those lines? Where would that leave the community?
A wiki is a collection of web pages designed to enable anyone who accesses it to contribute or modify content. The official Dev Team Wiki is not open to everyone, and I personally think rightfully so, but there should still be some sort of Wiki or Encyclopedia for iPhone users and hackers out there that want to know what and how all these methods of jailbreaking, activating and unlocking are/were actually done.
So far the majority of the information there was put up by GeoHot (George Hotz) who seems to have worked almost 24hrs straight on it, then took a 5 hour break and then was at it again. But since then you can see that allot of the Dev Team members have been very busy adding and tweaking the info, so hopefully this will grow into the ultimate iPhone resource.
A quick look at the constitution of the wiki gives us some great info:
“…many sites posted information on the iPhone. Iphone-elite was originated by zibri and tiven when zibri was ejected from dev for first time due to internal circumstances. But iphone-elite had an editable wiki that attrracted contributors like chris_, Fred, and MuscleNerd. After a few tits and tats including virginator tool, elite joined with dev in a happy world. Then Zibri “happened”, and he exposed several exploits yet to be unleashed (for Apple to then fix). JerrySim, anySim3rc3, ramdisk all exposed at once. The few people who knew anything in elite kicked out zibri and joined dev. Dev posted a “wiki”, but one in which they are the sole editors of. That’s not actually a wiki, and it will be corrected. But the selective membership does stop the spammers.”
I am very glad to see this being done, it will help the entire community. Those who are not part of the Dev Team or don’t know/understand their techniques or pool of information, will now get a glimpse into what they know and have discovered.
Here is the Table of Contents, everything on the site is very interesting. If you ever wondered how the jailbreak and activation worked, or wondered how PWNED or Ziphone did their thing - you can find out here. Have a read, get your learn on.
