PWNED is out and working great, but only for Mac at the moment and PC users seem to be feeling a little left out. Luckily there is a simple solution thanks to Sleepers.net and a user named Kinetic-X. You simply use WinPWN to pwn your iPhone to 1.1.4, use Installer to install BootNeuter and neuter your baseband, then restore in iTunes 7.7 to a custom 2.0 firmware that was built on a Mac with PWNED 2.0.
The step-by-step instructions are below, the links to the files you need are also there. You can refer to the original post for more info. Follow them carefully and you will have an unlocked first gen iPhone running 2.0.
Step 1: Use WinPWN 1.0 To PWN Your 1.1.4 iPhone. If you need WinPWN Get it: http://www.winpwn.com/files/winpwn_1.0.0.3_RC1_Setup.zip
Step 2: Install BootNeuter (Available Via Installer).
Step 3: Run BootNeuter and have it Neuter your iphone
Step 4: Make sure your iTunes version is at 7.7
Step 5: Grab a pre-created IPSW Made with PWNAGE 2.0 Mac. If you dont have one made you can grab one here: http://thepiratebay.org/tor/4305453/iThor__s_iPhone_2.0_Custom_Firmware_Vanilla_(5A347)
Step 6: Put your phone into recovery or DFU mode. Note that some users report DFU works best while others are reporting normal recovery mode works best. If you have an error, try swapping modes and toggle between these two types of recovery until one works.
Step 7: In iTunes Shif+Click the Restore button and find your custom IPSW Firmware file.
Step 8: Wait for it to complete! ENJOY!

what does neuter mean?

http://wikee.iphwn.org/sgold_bootrom:bootneuter
A neutered bootloader gives you absolute control over your baseband. The restrictions normally applied by the bootloader are completely lifted! With a neutered bootloader:
The baseband is no longer integrity-checked
Can be patched (unlocked or other custom modifications)
4.6BL will even run with patched baseband – no need to revert to 3.9BL even with most recent firmware
Secpack restrictions are removed
You are free to downgrade your baseband using bbupdater without having to run ieraser/ienew first.
No longer does the “greater than” (4.6BL) or “greater than or equal” (3.9BL) rule apply. You can arbitrarily go up and down regardless of what secpacks you use.
Secpack signatures are ignored
The RSA encrypted header is no longer checked for correct hash values by the bootloader
The *.fls files can be patched and fed to bbupdater directly
A copy of the last used secpack will be saved at a03c0000, retrievable via norz or similar dumpers. Not that secpacks even matter anymore.
Your neuter selection survives iTunes restores and updates
