New Fake Chinese iPhones hit the streets - Buyers beware

With the new 3G iPhone due in a few days, some shady resellers are already trying to take advantage of the unknowing consumer. These new Chinese knock-off iPhones are looking more and more convincing, and even fooled a young man and his father into a buying a few on a recent trip to China.

He, like others, thought he had scored a pretty sweet deal, when in fact he really just purchased the new fake Chinese knock off iPhones. Unfortunately the only thing that slightly resembles the iPhones is the design and box, once you start to mess around with the phones interface you immediately see that the interface is clunky, slow and not very user friendly, the touch screen isn’t as responsive, the pixel quality from the screen is awful and the build quality is poo.

Buyers please beware, do a little research first, ask a friend with an iPhone to have a look at it, look at the videos posted online by Apple and iPhone owners so you can get an idea of what to look for an expect. There will be allot of used iPhones for sale soon and in the mix will be allot of fake clones, don’t be fooled.

One of the first give aways, the lock screen. Besides Apple not using (or including) the clown fish background wallpaper, the “slide to unlock” text should be in lower case, there should NOT be message up top instructing you to install a sim card, it will simply say, No Sim or No Service.

Another giveaway are the strange icons - most chinese knock-offs come with gmaes and this should also be a give away. Apple does NOT include any games on the iPhone, and certianly, if they did, it wouldn’t be some Chinese Majong game.

As you can see it looks allot thicker, but to the untrained eye, the box and contents could really fool you.

The moeny shot - this is NOT the usb cable used or supplied with the iPhone. You should receive a white standard Apple iPod/iPhone USB cable with Apples propietry dock connector.

Good luck and beware, if you have any questions, please post them or ask a fellow iPhone owner.
