iPhone 3GThe iPhone Dev Team has been working hard on getting PWNAGE Tool ready for iPhone users world wide who are all eager to get their iPhones upgraded to 2.0 and unlocked, and those with an iPhone 3G, at least jailbreaked.

The latest update on their blog eludes up to what’s been going on behind the scenes. Fixing bugs associated with Cydia and AppStore clashing, reproducing all the various conditions that users will be using the PWNAGE tool and updating PWNAGE to work with Apples latest 2.0 build (b103) that was released just before the Dev’s had a chance to release PWNAGE.

So, currently (when released) PwnageTool 2.0 will support:-

  1. iPhone (1st Gen) with 2.0 - Activated, Unlocked & Jailbroken, (with support for third party applications).
  2. iPod Touch with 2.0 - Activated & Jailbroken, (with support for third party applications).
  3. iPhone (3G) with 2.0 - Activated, Jailbroken (with  support for third party applications).
I know your wondering, what about the iPhone 3G unlock? It’s coming soon according to the Dev Team, they are making progress.
“We’ve made some progress on the baseband unlock of the 3G device, but at this point PwnageTool will not support 3G unlocking or BootNeuter on the 3G device. It is, of course supported on the first generation device with 2.0. We’ll push out an update with that support when it is completed.”
I am glad that the Dev Team is taking a little time to do a little PR, it really helps ease the minds of those impatiently waiting for a solution to 2.0.
