Installer 4 for iPhone and iPod Touch Update and Screenshots

Everyone who has updated to 2.0 is wondering ‘what’s up with Installer?’ , myself included. Even though I am getting by quite well without Summerboard, VideoRecroder and VideosTones, their return would be welcomed alongside Super Monkey Ball, WordPress, Remote and Facebook to name a few of the apps I enjoy form the AppStore.

Rip-Dev (who has taken over full development of Installer) has updated their site with some nice screen shots of the new Installer and it’s looking good. Allot like the AppStore and Itunes WiFi Store, which is a good thing. Rip-Dev is currently in the final stages tying the user interface to the back-end.

Rip-Dev will be soon contacting the authors of the various apps and major repo’s to invite them to test the new backend of Installer 4 for 2.0+.

When it’s ready, how will we get it?

Regarding distribution / installation of Installer 4. RipDev are still ironing the details, but it will likely be available as a part of the Pwnage Tool (as before), as a stand-alone installer and possibly on Cydia

I am sure the new Installer will be available soon, but it is not known if Rip-Dev will wait for firmware 2.1 and maybe a new PWNAGE Tool before they release it.

Meanwhile, here are few actual screenshots of Installer 4 so you can see what it will look like:
