Realtime GPS support for your iPhone now available

The iGPSD from GPS development on iPhone is here to provide a real time GPS tracking and positioning solution for current iPhone owners. You can now buy it for $100 USD at their online store.
“The package for holux gps device is $100 USD which will include the iphone GPS cable , and the normal usb serial computer cable, so that you can use this as the GPS mouse if you like. And this holux GPS device also have the bluetooth connection support , so you can also use it with your Windows Mobile if you have one.”
As you can see it drops a location pin in Google maps on the iPhone every second or so, and as the guy walks around it tracks it with what looks like some pretty good accuracy, not like the current Google location feature which can put you off by hundreds of feet sometimes. It looks like it’s working over Edge, but I am sure that you would still need to download the Google maps for your are so it’s not refreshing the map everytime. This may be nice if used in a car or something where you wouldn’t have to carry everything around, or even better if they made the pin move along the map, instead of being dropped over and over, this could be hard to glance at if for example you are using this in your car.
Final Thoughts, it’s big and cumbersome and not really a real solution to the missing first gen iPhone GPS, but it can have its uses. Unfortunately I think the upcoming 3G iPhone may trump this entirely, but with an estimated 5+ millions iPhones floating around, quite a few people may end up buy it.
