Speedometer for your iPhone - Beta
By Aaron Besson at 26 April, 2008, 7:17 pm
I have been watching this cool little app is development for some time over on Hackint0sh, and its now seeming to be making some great progress. It’s a neat little app called SpeedometerEN that measures 0-60mph and your speed while traveling in your car (or anything once you can keep it level i guess). Its a GTech Pro in your iPhone for those of you who are into cars. This is pretty cool, here are some instructions on installing, screen shots too.Originally Posted by irafaSTo test the app, add http://promentor.no/demo to sources in installer. You have to install “Jiggy Runtime” from Devolopment folder, BEFORE the app.
The accelerometer is very sensitive and will show an acceleration if it’s not horizontal.
This is only a test-version, I need to know the results in real life, not only theoretical. It works only in horizontal direction.
Please post your results. If it works, I will make it much better.
Big thanks to JuiCe
This is currently in beta, so don’t expect any realistic results as the developer is still tweaking it, and doesn’t have any real GUI, besides some prompts on the screen, but this is still very promising and once gotten right it could be a cool lil app to play around with if you are into cars or just like to play with your iPhone.
Of course it should be said to be careful doing this and driving at the same time, get a friend to help you out so you don’t end up measuring the G’s of your car hitting another.
